Amud 2b

She can say about him, his field was swept away -

Summary
The loss (of not being able to marry) is attributed to the husband for it is his duty (not hers), and she is his property, not the reverse.

Therefore, if he became sick, he does not pay for her food -

Summary:
There is no obligation to be מעלה מזונות if the חלה happened before the זמן. An ארוסה is more attached to her ארוס, than a יבמה to her יבם.

Summary:
רב אחאי here was an אמורא (and it is not רב אחאי גאון of the שאלתות).

The Mishnah does not read; The men did not marry, but rather, the women were not married -

Summary:
There was a tradition to read the משנה as נישאו, and it also fits better with the singular conclusion of אוכלות משלו.

Rather; ‘They (the women) were not married’ -

Summary
לא נישאו can refer to both men and women causing the delay

It is not a Get, if he died -

Summary:
It is not a גט by מת because אין גט לאחר מיתה. At this point the גמרא was unaware of the idea that ניחא ליה דלא תפול קמי יבם.

And perhaps I will tell you that really even by becoming sick it is not a Get - ודלמא לעולם אימא לך חלה נמי אינו גט

Summary
The ברייתא may be teaching us that אין גט לאחר מיתה (for otherwise just write חלה וכ"ש מת) and יש אונס בגיטין (for otherwise just write הרי"ז גיטך לאחר מיתה).

This is your Get: if I die; from this sickness; after I die -

Summary:
The תנא may mention an obvious case to clarify the reason for the other cases. There are different types of ineffective

Perhaps it is to reject the view of our Rabbis -

Summary:
We cannot derive לאפוקי מדרבותינו from the רישא, because the רישא may be discussing either an undated גט, a vague date, or a post dated גט.

Perhaps only by death; for he is not pleased that she should be bound to the Yovohm -

Summary:
There is a difference between an אונס סתם (like מיתה) where a person anticipates it and wants the גט to be effective (שלא תזקק ליבם), and an אונס which is לא שכיח כלל (such as אכלו ארי) which he does not anticipate and we cannot assume that he wanted the גט to be חל למפרע in such a case.
