תוס' ד"ה רבי

ר"י said; the Omnipresent should have mercy on you, etc. - רבי יהודה אומר המקום ירחם עליך כולי

Summary:
According to ר' יוסף prayers are helpful all year only according to ר' יוסי, but not according to the others (except before יו"כ) while according to ר' יצחק according to everyone צעקה is always effective.

תוס' ד"ה שבנא

שבנא a person of ירושלים, etc. - שבנא איש ירושלים

Summary:
ר"ת maintains that the correct name (of this תנא) was שכנא (and not שבנא) for שבנא was a רשע. While the ר"י maintains that his name was שבנא, for there was also another שבנא who was not a רשע.

For the ministering angels do not recognize the Aramaic tongue - שאין מלאכי השרת מכירין בלשון ארמי

Summary:
The מלאכים are not acquainted with לשון ארמי (even though they know the innermost thoughts of people?!), except for גבריאל who knows all seventy languages.

Summary:
One may sit when visiting the sick, provided he does not sit higher than the head of the patient.

רבי נתן said; he read and tilted - רבי נתן אומר קרא והטה

Summary:
It is very shameful for a צדיק to eat non – כשר food, and 'ה will (usually) protect him so that he will not stumble into this sin.

What is the ruling regarding a non-permanent waiter with an oil lamp - שמש שאינו קבוע בדמשחא מאי

Summary:
If we assume that a שמש קבוע is more careful, then the query (בדמשחא מאי) is by a שמש שאינו קבוע, if a שמש קבוע is less careful then the query is by a שמש קבוע.
