תוס' ד"ה אור

Our משנה: The night of the fourteenth we search out the Chometz - מתניתין אור לארבעה עשר בודקין את החמץ

Summary:
רש"י maintains that the חיוב בדיקה is שלא יעבר עליו בב"י וב"י, and תוספות maintains that the חיוב בדיקה is שלא יבוא לאכלו. It cannot be for ב"י וב"י (according to תוספות) for ביטול is sufficient to prevent ב"י וב"י. The חיוב בדיקה וביעור is only by חמץ because either a) it is לא בדילי מיניה, or b) the תורה was מחמיר to be עובר on ב"י וב"י. This חיוב applies however, even to חמץ נוקשה וע"י תערובות, where there is no ב"י וב"י.

תוס' ד"ה קא ס"ד

It entered your mind that the one who said day, etc. - קא סלקא דעתך מאן דאמר נגהי וכולי

Summary:
The גמרא states לילי ממש on account of נגהי ממש.

And like Rav Yehuda - וכדרב יהודה

Summary:
The statement of ר"י אמר רב, is independent of the discussion in our גמרא concerning אור.

תוס' ד"ה יכנס

He should enter with 'יכנס בכי טוב - 'כי טוב

Summary:
The פסוק הבקר אור teaches us not to enter or leave a strange city at night (because of פחתים) even if there is no concern of מזיקין (there is large group traveling). The פסוק of לא תצאו teaches that one should not leave his own city (alone) at night because of the מזיקין.

And like the radiance of the morning in this world – וכאור בקר בעולם הזה

Summary:
It will be as light לע"ל at נץ החמה as it is now by חצות.

תוס' ד"ה והא

But we have established that until the appearance of the stars, it is day - והא קיימא לן עד צאת הכוכבים יממא הוא

Summary:
We know that it is day until צאת הכוכבים from the פסוקים in נחמיה which state ואנחנו עושים במלאכה וגו' עד צאת הכוכבים and והיה לנו וגו' והיום מלאכה. We are not experts in the time of צאת הכוכבים.

As it was taught; one who vowed to abstain from light - כדתנן הנודר מן האור

Summary:
Concerning נדרים we follow the לשון בני אדם when it contradicts לשון המקרא.
